| Message: | I went ahead and ordered the iSimple ISBM71 from Autotoys and it arrived in two days. Using their CD Changer jumper cable I connected the interface box and connected the 20 ft. iPod cable (included) to conduct a test before running cable to the dash. It worked just as advertised. I ran the iPod cable to the dash and as I finished re-installing the trunk carpet. I tested and found that the unit was no longer being recognized by the head unit. I contacted Autotoys that night and received a response in the morning offering a different brand iPod interface or return of the iSimple for exchange or refund. I liked the sound of the iSimple so ordered another unit and arranged for return of the non-working unit. The next day a new iSimple arrived I switch out the interface box and CD Changer jumper cable and all works fine. Autotoys delivered fast and provided great customer service and communication. iPod Control: iSimple allows access to all playlists, podcasts, audiobooks, etc., and all other functions from the iPod. Radio Control: Press CD and the iSimple is recognized as a CD. Next/previous song and FF and RWD are the same as regular CD. The single CD player is still accessed by pressing CD again. The CD displays CD1-01 which does not correspond to anything happening on the iPod which is not a concern for me. Most other units with more comprehensive radio display and control features cost $50 more than the $97 iSimple. with the "savings" I am purchasing a ProClip Padded iPod Cradle to mount to the right of heater controls. I'm using a gooseneck mount attached to the transmission tunnel that used to hold my non-Bluetooth cell phone. Proclips also makes a padded iPod cradle with a Tilt Swivel feature.
